About the Scottish Indoor Bowling Association
1 Title
The administrative body in Scotland for indoor bowling played on flat greens shall be called the Scottish Indoor Bowling Association, herein styled as the S.I.B.A.
2. Objects
The objects of the S.I.B.A. shall be as follows:
(a) To promote and foster indoor bowling in Scotland.
(b) To act in the best interest of its member clubs.
(c) To enforce the Joint Laws of the Game 2nd Edition
(d) To conduct and control all national competitions and championships and to licence all open competitions conducted by member clubs.
(e) To approve by-laws to suit special local conditions, providing such by laws are not inconsistent with the Joint Laws of the Game 2nd Edition.
(f) To resolve where necessary and particularly on appeal from any party involved in any dispute arising in relation to the Joint Laws of the Game 2nd Edition
3. Membership
The SIBA has three categories of membership – Full Membership (available to clubs which play on level indoor greens which have at least four rinks), Restricted Membership (available to clubs which play on level indoor greens having 2 or 3 rinks) and Associate Membership (available to bodies which have a direct association with indoor level green bowling in Scotland). At the commencement of the 2003/04 season there were a total of 56 clubs in membership of the Association.
